In a vibrant celebration of scientific inquiry and inventive spirit, Mar Dionysius School in Mallappally hosted its Annual Science Expo, named “Srishti,” on November 23, 2023. The event unfolded as a testament to the students’ dedication to learning, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge.
The prestigious inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Riboy Cheriyan, Ph.D., M.Tech, Controller of Examinations at Saintgits College of Engineering (Autonomous), Pathamuttom, Kottayam. Dr. Riboy Cheriyan, a respected figure in the academic realm, commended the students for their commitment to scientific exploration during his inaugural address.
The expo kicked off with an impressive array of displays, including solar system models, hologram projectors, and models of Indian space missions like Mangalyan, Gagannyan, and Chandrayan. Students demonstrated their understanding of space exploration through intricate models and interactive displays, captivating visitors and fostering a sense of wonder.
Technology and artificial intelligence took center stage with exhibits such as the QR-Based School Bus Attendance System and the AI-Integrated Attendance Marking System using face recognition. These projects underscored the students’ commitment to leveraging technology for practical applications in daily life.
The expo also emphasized environmental sustainability, with projects addressing water purification, waste-water treatment plants, rainwater harvesting, and recycling initiatives. The students showcased their dedication to fostering eco-friendly solutions and sustainable practices.
Biology-themed projects featured prominently, including models depicting the structure of neurons and eyes. Students demonstrated their understanding of biological systems with eye-still and eye-working models, showcasing their commitment to merging science with creativity.
